Did you know thereā€™s a tour of Greensboro that highlights Black history? Join Triangle Walking Tours on its African American History Walking Tour!

What: The History Walking Tour takes participants through various locations in Greensboro, including:

  • The Historic Magnolia House, a hotel that housed some of America's most prestigious Black celebrities

  • Bennett College, one of the earliest institutions for the education of Black women

  • Plus more!

Background: Triangle Walking Tours founder Andrew Nason started the company out of his passion for sharing the history of major cities in the Triangle. He still leads some of the tours himself!

Fun Fact: The company also offers Black history tours in Raleigh and Durham.

Details: The tour begins at The Historic Magnolia House with tours available every Saturday at 3 PM.

  • Marathon - Run in the Valentine's Heartbreaker Marathon & Relay in Country Park. The raceā€™s event charity partner is A Simple Gesture. 10 AM

  • Opening: Cookie Plug celebrates its grand opening on February 10. The bakery is known for thick cookies that are ā€œpart cookie, part cake, and part brownie.ā€ This will be the franchiseā€™s first location in North Carolina.

  • Athletics: The opening ceremony for the annual Greater Greensboro Senior Games and SilverArts competitions is April 2; the registration deadline is March 1. The competitions promote healthy lifestyles - both mentally and physically - by encouraging adults 50+ to practice and participate in their chosen events throughout the year.
