Chow Downtown returns to downtown Greensboro from January 21-27! This week highlights local restaurants that will be offering specials for patrons old and new to enjoy.

  • Comedy Magic Show - Eric Eaton (from Masters of Illusion) brings his quick wit and magic tricks to The Comedy Zone. Also available Saturday.

  • Stage Performance - The High Point Arts Council presents The Snowy Day, a stage adaption of the beloved picture book. Also available Saturday.

  • Dinner & Dessert - Head to Savor the Moment Bakery for a community night with great food featuring Empanada Grill’s entrĂ©es and Savor the Moment’s Crunch Cheesecakes. 6 PM

Saturday, January 20

  • GSO Songfest - Listen to music from 20 songwriters at Oden Brewing Company. All proceeds benefit the Out of the Garden Project. 12-10 PM

  • Swiftie Spa Night - Reserve a spot for your daughter at Frosted Bath Bakery’s fun evening featuring spa treatments, karaoke, a photo booth, and more! 5-9 PM

  • Mocktail Class - Learn how to make herbal mocktails with Delicious Elixirs at Find Your Flow Wellness Studio. 6 PM

  • Comedy Showcase - Laugh the night away at Acme Comics’ Four Eyes Comedy Showcase. 8 PM

Sunday, January 21

  • DIY Workshop - Reconsidered Goods hosts an intermediate succulent crochet class. All materials are provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own. 11:30 AM

  • Improv 101 Workshop - The Idiot Box presents a 5-week series to help participants learn the fundamentals of improv comedy. 1 PM

  • Mom Wine Time - Enjoy an afternoon connecting and meeting other moms at Tasting Room GSO. 2-5 PM

  • Rankings: North Carolina was recognized as the second-best state for women business owners in the 2024 Wells Fargo Impact of Women-Owned Business Report.

  • University: High Point University received the 2024 Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement. The designation highlights an institution’s commitment to community engagement; only 40 colleges and universities across the nation received the designation.

  • New Coffee Shop: UNCG celebrated the grand opening of College Ave. CafĂ© in Fountain View Dining Hall earlier this month. The cafĂ© offers Change Please Coffee, a coffee brand that empowers individuals experiencing homelessness.

  • Speaker Series: Greensboro Day School presents the McLendon Speaker Series starting January 22. The series features national and local experts speaking on current topics in the education and parenting fields.

  • Workshop Series: Pinspiration is hosting a Ladies Night Out Workshop Series every Thursday until February 15 and a Candle Making Date Night every Friday until February 16.

  • Award: High Point Community Theatre’s The Troupe won the Excellence in Acting award at the 2024 Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA.

  • Stage Show - On January 31, Carolina Theatre presents Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. The production is intended for 3rd-8th graders.
