Soft Opening - A new whiskey bar is coming to Jamestown! Register for Barrel & Co’s soft opening on its website. The confirmation email will include the time for guests to attend.
Arts Celebration - The High Point Arts Council celebrates its 62nd birthday and reveals its new branding and strategic plan at its downtown headquarters. 4-6 PM
First Friday - Kick off Black History Month with a Special HBCU experience at the Greensboro Cultural Center, featuring a live art demo, vendor fair, and more. 6-9 PM
Adult Spelling Bee - Grab your friends and watch this annual competition at Bull City Ciderworks. 7-9 PM
STOMP - Grab a seat at the Steven Tanger Center to watch STOMP, an inventive percussion performance. Also available Saturday.

Celebrate: In honor of Black History Month, Biscuitville is proud to partner with the Triad’s Scuppernong Books bookstore to promote works by various local Black authors. Additionally, Biscuitville is highlighting a revered North Carolina trailblazer – André Leon Talley (1948 – 2022). In following the tradition of years past, Biscuitville is also honoring one of its own beloved team members, Tracy Meadows, who is the Operator of Biscuitville’s Henderson, N.C. restaurant.*
Sports: Tickets for the 2024 Ally ACC Women's Basketball Tournament are now on sale. The tournament will take place March 6-10 at the Greensboro Coliseum.
Arts: The Steven Tanger Center will welcome its one-millionth guest at Friday’s performance of STOMP. The guest will win $1,000 in Tanger Center show tickets, an autographed prop from STOMP, and an appearance on stage before the show starts.
New Business: Bella Ciao is now open at 3612 Spring Garden St # A, Greensboro. This cafe serves coffee, cepésm, and pastries!
Networking: Lewis Recreation Center will host the Black Business Expo, a networking event celebrating Black businesses, on February 3. The event will include speakers from locally-owned Black businesses, a DJ, and community vendors.
University: UNCG’s associate dean of the anthropology department, Charles Bolton, announced he will resign in May. Bolton is resigning in protest over recent recommendations from the academic portfolio review process to discontinue several programs and courses.
Black History: Check out these events happening near you this February to celebrate the rich heritage and significance of Black History Month.
Housing: The Greensboro City Council discussed increasing assistance for homebuyers in a review of its 10-year plan to address Greensboro's housing shortage. The initiative is expected to cost $50 million.
Parking: Greensboro’s proposed downtown parking plan is available for public review until March 15. You can access the plan online or view it in person at Central Library.

Chocolate and Cocktail Pairing - Join Rhyme and Reason Chocolate Co at Bitters Social House for this delicious pairing event on February 10.
