Pumpkin Wall
The 5th annual Sunset Hills Pumpkin Wall features carved pumpkins from the community, allowing neighbors to enjoy each other’s creativity. Sarah P. and Reeves C. brought the tradition to Sunset Hills in 2020 after being inspired by a pumpkin wall in a Charlotte neighborhood.
Why? In the midst of the pandemic, Sarah and Reeves were looking for ways to celebrate Halloween that didn’t involve a large gathering of people. The Pumpkin Wall was the perfect solution!
New: This was the first year they held a contest for the best pumpkin. The community voted on the winner, who received a $50 gift card to Sticks & Stones.
Extra: Each year the Sunset Hills Environmental Affairs committee and Halloween committee commit to finding a place to compost the carved pumpkins.
