Primary Election
The primary elections for North Carolina take place on Tuesday, March 5. If youâre confused about what that means, keep reading!
What Are Primary Elections?
Primary elections are used by political parties to select candidates for an upcoming general election. In this case, the primary elections determine who is on the ballot for the November elections.
Who Can Participate?
Any registered voter. If your registration is affiliated with a particular political party, you may only vote in that partyâs primary election.
On the other hand, if you are registered as âUnaffiliated,â you can choose which primary election to participate in. Keep in mind that you may only vote in one partyâs primary election, not both.
Who Are We Voting For?
Federal and state positions like governor, attorney general, and judges.

Early Voting
Canât make it to a polling place on March 5? Early voting is open until March 2.

Country Concert - American country pop duo, Dan + Shay, perform at Greensboro Coliseum. 7 PM
R&B Concert - Listen to artists like Next, H-Town, and J Holiday perform in The Ladies R&B Kickback Concert at the Steven Tanger Center. 8 PM
Social Saturday - Hop on the trolley and explore the many local businesses of downtown High Point. Participating businesses will have specials! 4-10 PM
Kids Workshop - Kids ages 5-12 will create 2D and 3D crafts to take home at The Art Gallery at Congdon Yards. 10 AM
Pregnant In The Piedmont - The pregnancy, baby, and parenting expo has expanded to Greensboro! The free event at New Garden Park features vendors, workshops, demos, and more. 12-4 PM

Pilates Class - Take a free class at Steel Hands Brewing. 2 PM
Clothing Swap - Bring clean and gently used clothes to Reconsidered Goods and browse the items other customers have brought in! 12-4 PM
Chili Cook Off - Register to compete or simply enjoy the various entries at Bitters Social House. Benefits SPCA of the Triad. 3-6 PM

Other News
Program: Greensboroâs free Neighborhood Toolbox Tool Lending Center reopens on March 1. Anyone can place a reservation for tools and equipment they need and pick up the items at the Greensboro Sportsplex Mon-Wed, 11 AM - 1 PM.
Parking: Greensboroâs Downtown Parking Plan is available for public review. The plan includes recommendations to charge for parking in high-demand areas, expand parking enforcement hours, and transition to pay stations instead of parking meters.
Save the Date: The Kellin Foundation is offering free training workshops for parents and caregivers of children ages 3-5 at various locations in March. Participants will learn skills to manage their stress and help their children also develop these skills using the Community Resilience Model (CRM).
Transportation: Greensboro is launching a new public transport route called Route 1 Crossmax Purple on March 4. The new route combines GTA Routes 1 and 10 with 15-minute frequencies and a one-seat ride; riders will not have to change buses on the route. The first week of the service will be fare-free.
Job Fair: GuilfordWorks hosts the Healthcare Career Pathways Job Fair at the Barber Park Event Center this Thursday, February 29. The fair will feature available positions from 20+ different healthcare employers.
Sports: The ACC mascots will make an appearance at the Greensboro Science Center on March 5 at 3:30 PM!
University: NC A&T broke ground on the new Bluford Residence Hall on February 22. The four-story hall will have 66 two and four-bedroom suites, and construction is expected to finish in spring 2026.
New Bar
The Quarter is a new, beautifully decorated Louisiana-style bar that opened on Tuesday night!
Features: Two stories with balcony seating overlooking the main floor, plus a life-sized tree sculpture sitting right in the middle of the bar!
Owners: The bar is owned by Joel Ornstein and his partners from Earlâs and Joynerâs, two bars in Winston-Salem.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 4 PM - 2 AM; Saturday-Sunday, 12 PM - 2 AM
