Ranking: According to the annual FT-Nikkei rankings, Greensboro ranks as the 9th-best place for foreign businesses in the U.S. The city has moved up 11 spots after ranking 20th on the list last year.
New Cinema: Local filmmaker, actor, and educator Edna Thompson recently opened Spinning Dreams. The movie theater brings the community free movies and cheap concessions at the Pinehurst Building.
New Restaurants: Epic Chophouse, a steakhouse, and Paris Banh Mi, a Vietnamese bakery, are slated to open in the coming year.
Groundbreaking: N.C. A&T State University broke ground on the Urban and Community Food Complex on November 14. The complex will function as both a small business incubator and a research and engagement facility.
Anniversary: The Bearded Goat (South End location) celebrates its 7th year in business with live music.
New Coffee Shop: According to WXII, Grimsley High School opened The Whirlee Cafe, which will be run by exceptional children (EC) students at the school. The experience is intended to provide the students with real-life work experience to help them gain employment after graduation.
