Are you excited for the holiday season? Greensboro and High Point have plenty of ways for you to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year; check out some of the many events below!

Winter Wonderlights at Greensboro Science Center

  • Kersey Valley Christmas: Enjoy a winter wonderland of Christmas lights, holiday sets, pictures with Santa, and much more. November 24 - December 23

  • Winter Wonderlights: The Greensboro Science Center transforms into a breathtaking outdoor light show, with 12 different light display “zones” to discover. November 22 - December 31

  • The Nutcracker: The annual ballet takes place at the Steven Tanger Performing Arts Center this year, with hundreds of UNCSA students helping bring the performance to life. December 7-10

Thursday, November 9

  • Holiday DIY - Make Christmas cards and gift tags while enjoying drinks at Nomad Wine Works. 6 PM

  • Art of Disney - Learn about the early history of Disney animation at Margaret and Bill Benjamin Auditorium. 5:30 PM

Friday, November 10

  • Veterans Celebration - High Point University honors local veterans with a breakfast, speaker, and patriotic salute at Qubein Arena and Conference Center. 8 AM

Saturday, November 11

  • Veterans Day - Honor those who served in our military with a special ceremony at The Carolina Field of Honor. 11 AM

  • Cirque Goes Broadway - Cirque de la Symphonie performs Broadway’s most memorable show tunes at Steven Tanger Center. 8 PM

  • Triad GO FAR 5K - Head to Showplace Courtyard for a 5K and Fun Run event presented by Novant Health. 8:15 AM

  • Barista 101 - Learn and practice the basics of coffee creation for home expresso at Green Joe’s Coffee Co. 9:30 AM

  • The LaRue Run - Run or walk in this 5K event at Country Park to support Little Pink Houses of Hope. 9:30 AM

  • Coffee Larger Festival - Steel Hands Brewing celebrates one of its flagship drinks with a vendor market, desserts, and brunch specials. 12 PM

  • The Wizard of Oz - The Community Theatre of Greensboro presents the 28th annual production of this beloved classic at Carolina Theatre. Also available November 12, 18, and 19.

  • Mistletoe Market - Shop local from vendors offering pottery, jewelry, books, and more at Millstone Creek Orchards. There will be visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus! Also available November 18.

Sunday, November 12

  • Veterans Parade - Head to Main Street to enjoy the return of this High Point tradition. 3 PM

  • Cocktail Class - Join GIA for a pop culture-themed cocktail class. Classes available at 3 PM and 5:30 PM.

  • Holiday Market - Shop at The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market for pottery, local crafts, and more. 11 AM - 4 PM

Other News

  • Holiday Performance: The Nutcracker will be performed at the Tanger Performing Arts Center in Greensboro this year (December 7-10). Since 1966, this ballet has showcased the talent of hundreds of UNCSA students who bring this holiday tradition to life as dancers, musicians, and theater designers.*

  • Homeowner Program: Nearly 200 households received assistance from Greensboro’s inaugural Low Income Homeowner Assistance Program, totaling approximately $38,800 in aid. The program provided funds to eligible homeowners to help them pay their 2022 property taxes.

  • New Logo: The Grasshoppers, Greensboro’s Minor League team, revealed its new logo and uniforms last week. The color has changed from hunter green to kelly green, and the grasshopper mascot has been altered to look more mischievous.

  • Survey: The Downtown Greensboro Inc. Annual Survey is now live! Share your thoughts and opinions on Downtown Greensboro to enhance the downtown experience.

  • Veterans Day: Guilford County is honoring veterans by participating in Operation Green Light November 6-11. During this time, various county buildings will be lit with green lights to demonstrate support and appreciation for military veterans.

  • New Restaurant: Noor Kitchen and Cocktails had its soft opening on November 7. With a classy, intimate atmosphere, the restaurant brings Indian cuisine to 4312 Big Tree Way in Greensboro.
